Five favourite apps: Autumn 2015
5 apps to help your SME
Apps to help you achieve extra efficiency
Despite being unheard of just a few years ago, it’s hard to think of a world without smartphone apps. They’re a fantastic way of improving efficiency in all areas of work, whether on the road or in the office. Let’s take a look at five our favourite apps released in the last few months.
iMeet Agenday is a smart calendar, which seamlessly lets you integrate your appointments and makes meeting scheduling a piece of cake. It lets you poll other attendees to find the optimum time for the meeting. It can link with other programs too, including Outlook, Google Calendar and even SalesForce. Tired of running the gauntlet of logins and access codes for conference calls? iMeet Agenday lets you in with just one touch! Not only that, it also gives directions to meetings and even lets you view LinkedIn profiles of other attendees. What’s not to love? (iOS and Android)
Do you let wads of receipts build up, and then find yourself in a frantic seek and file session when it comes to submitting your expenses? Expensify simplifies the whole process – all you need to do is snapshot the receipts and it can send them straight to your report. (iOS and Android)
Translating on the go has never been easier – Microsoft Translator allows you to decipher phrases whenever and wherever you want. Type them in, say them out loud; this app will do the rest. If you know the phrase but are unsure of the pronunciation then it can sound it out for you. Not only is this handy app available for Windows Phone, but also Google Wear and Apple Watch with variants for the respective smartphone OS.
Only available to Android users, if you find your day is constantly interrupted by a relentless flood of notifications, then Snowball is the app for you. Snowball categories your notifications according to priority, learning and refining as it goes based on what notifications you actually interact with. This means more peace for you without the risk of missing out on important notifications you actually need.
Wouldn’t it be handy if you could automatically scan important docs on the go, rather than wait till your get back to your increasingly cluttered desk? With Tiny Scanner you can! Simply scan docs as you get them, and bang, they’re filed away. It even converts them to PDF format! That’s less running to the office scanner, less filing and a tidier desk to boot. (Android only)
